Dr. Kathy Ranzinger
Dr. Ranzinger has been successful in creating a growing clinic based on the philosophy of providing the highest quality of healthcare to meet the needs of pets and the concern of owners.
Staff and doctors share the philosophy and create a caring, family-type atmosphere. "Since many staff members are long-term, we are like family." she said. |
This also extends to clients. "We view our clients as part of our extended family, watching their pets and children grow throughout the years," she added.
She and her husband, David, have 2 sons, Nathan and Daniel. They share their house with two cats, four dogs, three birds, and fish. Dr. Ranzinger enjoys indoor and outdoor gardening, reading, cooking, Vikings football, and walking.
She is a 1982 graduate of the University of Minnesota, College of Veterinary Medicine and has been practicing in the Twin Cities since 1985. Her special interests include internal medicine, dentistry, and soft tissue surgery. She has been the owner of East Valley Animal Clinic since 1995.
Dr. Ranzinger is a member of the Minnesota Veterinary Medical Association, the American Veterinary Medical Association, the American Animal Hospital Association, and Veterinary Information Network. |
Dr. Mary Jo Wagner
Mary Jo Wagner was a certified veterinary technician for over 20 years before she returned to school to earn her degree as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Minnesota School of Veterinary Medicine in May 2005. During her years as a veterinary technician, she worked in several different small animal practices, including the Animal Emergency Clinic in St. Paul, MN where she gained skills in emergency medicine. Dr. Wagner was also a faculty member at the Medical Institute of Minnesota where she trained vet. tech students. She has a special interest in small mammals such as guinea pigs, ferrets, rats and mice.
Dr Mary Jo Wagner and her husband have 2 children. They also share their home with 2 dogs, 4 cats, and 4 guinea pigs. In her spare time, Dr. Wagner is busy watching her kids play hockey in the winter, and baseball or softball in the summer. Dr Wagner is working on completing her master's degree in Public Health, focusing on emergency preparedness. She is currently working with a local bird rescue organization in implementing a response plan in the event of an outbreak of Avian Influenza in the U.S.

Dr Pam Takeuchi
"Making the transition to a new clinic was made easier by the great staff and clients of East Valley Animal Clinic"
Dr. Pam Takeuchi joined the staff in June 2005 after moving to the area from Plymouth, Minnesota. Pam is a 1999 graduate of the Ohio State University Veterinary School. Originally from southern California, living in Minnesota has been change. However, biking, cross country skiing, mountain biking, rollerblading and reading have kept Pam busy. Her husband Ken, two sons, Kyle and Owen, and dog, "Mochi" also ensure that Pam never sits around for too long. |
Dr. Heidi Hammel
Dr. Hammel comes to East Valley Animal Clinic after graduating from the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine in 2008. Prior to veterinary school, Dr Hammel worked for over 6 years as a technician in the intensive care and surgical departments of the Veterinary Teaching Hospital at the University of Minnesota. Her areas of interest include soft tissue surgery and pain managerment. She also has on interest in certain aspects of eastern medicine, especially acupuncture.
Dr Hammel and her husband, who also happens to be a veterinarian, live in Minneapolis with their two dogs, a German Shepherd named Crash, and a Jack Russell Terrier named Naya. In her spare time. Dr Hammel enjoys traveling and anything that has to do with the outdoors, such as hiking and running.

Dr. Katie DudleyDr Katie Dudley is a 2003 graduate of the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine. She worked at East Valley Animal Clinic from 2003 until July of 2007 when she moved to Baltimore, MD. Missing Minnesota, Dr. Dudley moved back "home" in December 2008 and was very excited to be able to return to EVAC in January 2009. She enjoys dermatology, feline medicine, and getting to witness the bond between clients and their pets.
Currently, Dr Dudley lives in St. Paul with her Standard Poodle, Walter, and 2 cats, Henry and Stuart. In her free time she enjoys walking with Walter, reading, yoga, and attempting to knit and crochet.
